Today we are gonna talk about Features, Specification, Availability and Price of Mi A2 & Lite.
Xiaomi has announced the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, two new phones running Android One. Google’s stripped-down operating system was originally intended for low-end devices, but the Mi A2 phones are firmly mid-range and should provide a solid stock Android 8.1 experience.
Xiaomi Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite launch highlights: Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, the two new Xiaomi phones, which are Android One certified devices, were unveiled at an event in Madrid, Spain. Xiaomi hosted a global event to introduce both the Mi A2 devices. Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite are expected to come to India soon, within price range of under Rs 20,000, though in Europe, the prices could be higher depending on the conversion.
Mi A2 comes with features and specifications similar to the Mi 6X, that launched earlier in China, and it is a rebranded version of the same phone. Mi A1 was an revamp of the Mi 5X from China, when it was introduced in India last year. Mi A2 Lite though sports a design with a notch and come with dual-rear cameras at the back.
Mi A2:
The new Xiaomi Mi A2 has a 5.99-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass for protection. The dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone will run pure Android 8.1 Oreo, and is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC (four 2.2GHz Kyro 260 cores + four 1.8GHz Kyro 260 cores) and Adreno 512 GPU. As mentioned above, it will come with up to 6GB LPDDR4x dual channel RAM and up to 128GB internal storage options.
It will be available in three colour options – Blue, Black, and Gold. Mi A2 sports dual rear 12MP+20MP cameras. The front camera is 20MP with Artificial Intelligence (AI) features, including an AI Portrait mode. Under the hood, Mi A2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Mi A2 is backed by a 3,010mAh battery.
India Availability: While the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite will go on sale in France, Spain and Italy from July and August, it will also come to other countries, a total of 40 to be precise. Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite will come to India as well, though we will have to wait and see when it goes on sale in the market.
Mi A2 will have a bundled USB Type-C to 3.5mm jack converter cable that hints towards the absence of a headphone jack.
As Xiaomi points out, there are improvements across the board compared with the Mi A1 (see below image). The metal unibody construction and impressive spec sheet (for the price) are carried over from its predecessor.

Mi A2 Lite:
It may come as some surprise to see another even cheaper Android One device from Xiaomi, but the extra choice is never unwelcome. The specs of the Mi A2 Lite are more similar to last year’s Mi A1, with the same Snapdragon 625 chip and smaller storage/memory options. The screen is slightly smaller than on the regular Mi A2 at 5.84″, and the second rear and front cameras are only 5MP. It does have a larger 4,000mAh battery, but you sadly have to deal with Micro USB for charging, which is also slower than on the Mi A2.
Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has a notch cutout which is on a 5.84-inch full-HD+ display. Under the hood of the smartphone runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The smartphone also has a dual-camera setup of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors, and a 5-megapixel front camera. Mi A2 Lite packs a bigger 4,000mAh battery. Mi A2 Lite will have an Android One branding as well. It will come in Blue, Black and Gold color option as well. Out of India it will be available in Red Color also.
Price: Mi A2 Lite will cost Euros 179 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB version. The Mi A2 Lite in 4GB+64GB storage will cost Euro 229. On conversion to India, the prices come to Rs 14,000 plus and Rs 18,000 plus for the Mi A2 Lite smartphones.

Both phones will be available to buy later this month in 40 countries. Pricing for the Mi A2 starts at €249 (around $290) for the 4GB/32GB model, then €279 (around $325) for 4GB/64GB, and €349 (around $408) for 6GB/128GB. The Mi A2 Lite comes in at €179 (around $209) for 3GB/32GB, and €229 (around $267) for 4GB/64GB. Blue, Black, and Gold will be the color options for both devices.
Both Phones will Launch in India at 6th August.
